When I was asked to photograph the dancers from Vantage Pointe Dance, my mind immediately started spinning with ideas. I wanted to create something timeless, visually striking, and different from a traditional dance session.
A Dance Photoshoot at the Worth Avenue Clock Tower
Photographing dancers is its own art form. There are so many details that matter — lines, hands, posture, movement, expression — and I was very fortunate to work alongside amazing dance teachers who helped make sure each pose was just right. We chose the iconic Worth Avenue Clock Tower in Palm Beach as our location, and it could not have been more perfect.
Each dancer brought her own energy and personality to the shoot. They absolutely nailed their white outfits, hair, and makeup, and they were such a pleasure to photograph.
The coordinated white looks were beautiful against the Clock Tower, blue sky, ocean, and classic Palm Beach architecture. We created a mix of elegant dance poses, movement, individual portraits, and one unforgettable group image.
The Shot That Stopped Traffic
For the group shot, we had to clear the parents and bystanders, get everyone into position, and I had less than a minute to photograph the girls before traffic needed to move again. My heart was beating so fast. I took a deep breath, steadied my hands, and focused on getting the shot.
I photographed a few frames to make sure every dancer looked perfect, stepped away, and the cars began moving again. The relief I felt when I looked at the image was huge. We got it — and it was everything I had envisioned.
Dance Portraits That Feel Like Art
I am incredibly proud of what we created that day. The dancers showed up, trusted the process, and absolutely killed it. I’m forever grateful to Vantage Pointe Dance for allowing me to create with them.
These photographs are more than dance portraits to me. They feel like art — timeless, powerful, joyful, and completely unique to this group of dancers.
